With only two days to go until the start of one of Channel Ten's most hyped shows for 2016, I'm a Celebrity Get me Out of Here. Big Bash League (BBL) import and former international English cricketer Kevin 'KP' Pietersen, has posted a cryptic photo to his social media pages which has some fans thinking he's headed straight for the jungle.
The Melbourne Stars player who has won a legion of fans in the land down under after a successful season in the Big Bash League, took to Twitter and Instagram this week to post a photo of elephants at a luxury wildlife resort in South Africa.
Before you ask the question, so what.... the guy likes posting photos of elephants at a native wildlife resort! There's a few things you should know about the photo in question.
- The resort featured in the picture is Leopard Hills, a private luxury resort (where you can literally chill out in your lounge room and stare at elephants out your window) located in the western sector of the Sabi Sand Reserve, bordering the world famous Kruger National Park.
- Kruger National Park is also the location being used for I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Here. Coincidence?
- Channel Ten has also been stirring the pot by promoting the fact that an international sporting star will be entering the jungle for the new season of the show... most likely to be a cricketer.
But before you go announcing the news to the world via social media, one thing that is still a little unclear, and that is why the photo featured was tagged in the location of Wentworth Golf Club?
You see Wenworth Golf Club is a privately owned course and health resort in Surrey, on the south western fringes of London? (Not far from Windsor Castle). So if KP was indeed in the South African jungle.. then why would his location be the UK?
It's also no secret that KP has been spotted out and about around London town following his return home from Australia, spending time with his family and new born daughter Rosie.
And according to the Daily Mail there's also a theory that former Australian cricketer Shane Warne is actually headed for the jungle... so we're assuming there's probably not room enough for two cricket superstars... right?
On a side not, Kevin is originally from South Africa and often visits his homeland, so maybe he's just having a nostalgic moment about his past trip!
So with all of this information to take into account, do you think this is this a clever ploy by the producers and KP to evoke suspicion, is he trying to pull our leg, does he really just love wildlife, or is KP legitimately headed for the jungle?
Only time will tell!
Catch I'm A Celbrity Get Me Out of Here this Sunday night (Jan 31) on Channel Ten.
